Why should I assess my suppliers?

When establishing a global supply chain, one key obstacle encountered is the significant distance between your customers and suppliers. Visiting and auditing your global suppliers is challenging and costly when you must cross the globe to access them. When should I assess my suppliers?

FactoryAudits.com recommends assessing potential suppliers prior making a purchase order. That way, your company will be equipped to make the best buying decisions possible. However, we know that this does not always happen and companies who audit current suppliers also benefit greatly by learning their suppliers strengths and weaknesses and what corrective actions should be completed to move towards improvement.


How often should I re-audit my suppliers?

We also recommend auditing your suppliers on an annual basis. A lot can change in a year; make sure your suppliers are on target regularly.


What is the difference between our Standard Factory Audit and our MCA?

Both services offer complete audits with extensive profiling of your supplier. Our MCA, however offers a more in-depth look at your supplier’s strengths and weaknesses.

Every Manufacturing Capability Assessment includes all of the features of our Standard Factory Audit, but also includes:

  • A one-hour "Teleconference Review of Findings"- Have the findings explained to you in detail by the Senior Auditor that visited your factory and completed your assessment. Get all of your questions answered.
  • "Corrective Actions"- Our Senior Auditors recommend improvements to make in your Factory prior to purchase.
  • "Client Specific Questions" – MCA’s include the option to have your FactoryAudits.com Senior Auditor ask specific questions to your supplier during the assessment. Find out exactly what you need to know! (limits apply)
  • A "Detailed Executive Summary" – An overview of your supplier’s quality and material processes, research and development analysis, and a social accountability breakdown. This summary is also written by the Senior Auditor that visited your factory and completed your assessment.
  • "Additional Photos" – Have our Senior Auditor include more visual insight to your factory. Includes additional pictures on plant layout, quality and materials management systems, equipment and machinery conditions, environmental safety and health, and social accountability.

How long does it take to receive the audit report?

It takes approximately 2 weeks form the time you place the order. If you need It faster, we will try to accommodate special requests as best we can.


How is my audit delivered?

We deliver your audit document directly to your email inbox. As soon as the report is ready, you will receive an email with the audit report attached.


Who conducts the audits?

Depending on the location and industry, we will assign one of our bi-lingual auditors to complete the audit. For more info, please see the about us page.


MCA v. Audit – What’s the difference?

Our Manufacturing Capability Assessment (MCA) service is similar to a factory audit, but more comprehensive. We only conduct MCA’s using our most senior auditors and every MCA is reviewed with you over the phone at a time that is convenient for you.


How long does it take to receive my report?

It typically takes between 5 to 10 business days. We always try to meet all of our customers’ requests. If you would like us to rush your order, we are happy to make every effort possible to meet your requests.


Can I schedule my audits in advance for future dates?

Absolutely! The more advance notice you can give us, the better. If you would like to schedule an audit for a future date, please include these instructions in the "Additional Comments" section on the schedule page.


Do you offer volume discounts?

Of course! If your company is looking to have more than 10 factories audited each year, we are happy to provide you with special pricing.


Is it possible to set up an account with terms?

Does the pricing include travel costs?

Yes. All of our audit prices quoted on this website include travel expenses and all related taxes. You pay a flat fee, and there are no additional charges.
